Inside Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Everything You Need to Know

Granblue Fantasy: Relink was released on February 1, 2024, for PS4, PS5, and PC, and is set in the Sky Realm, where countless islands float in an endless blue expanse. Take on the role of the captain of an airship crew, accompanied by a stubborn little dragon named Vyrn and a girl with mysterious powers called Lyria. Together, you’ll travel with crew members of all kinds, from kings to rebels, across Estalucia, a legendary island situated beyond the end of the skies.

In the Zegagrande Skydom, the islands are protected by powerful creatures known as primal beasts, and the winds carry tales of a secret organization called the Church of Avia. Unravel a web of intrigue that stretches far beyond the borders of Zegagrande, and engage in a battle that will change the fate of the Sky Realm.

Engage in real-time combat with a party of four characters in this action RPG. Choose from a variety of skyfarers, each with their own unique weapons, abilities, and fighting styles. Here, teamwork is key: take down opponents in spectacular fashion with various group mechanics, such as linked attacks and combo breakers. Tackle missions solo or in a party of up to four players in cooperative mode, and defeat treacherous enemies to earn rare loot and upgrade your gear. Each enemy and party formation has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the key to victory lies in figuring out how these pieces fit together.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Is It Worth It?
The answer is: yes, but, as always, it’s important to manage your expectations.
If you’re a fan of classic JRPGs, you won’t find that traditional experience here, and that’s not what the game aims to deliver. Granblue Fantasy: Relink offers a relatively short campaign, but it’s filled with epic moments and a cast of diverse, fun-to-play characters. It’s an action-adventure game you can enjoy either solo or with friends, especially in the post-game content.
Fans of the original Granblue Fantasy likely won’t have much to complain about. While some might miss the turn-based system, the real-time combat is so well executed that it’s sure to win over most players. Plus, you no longer need to rely on luck to play as your favorite character.
